Fiat S.p.A. publishes 2011 Sustainability Report
|
Now in its eighth edition, this year’s Sustainability Report for
the first time also reports on the results of the integration between
Fiat and Chrysler, and the shared commitment between them to sustainable
development. The new report can be found at: http://ethicalp.com/fiat12
The
Report is a voluntary document produced by the Group to provide
stakeholders a comprehensive picture of the activities carried out,
results achieved and commitments made in the economic, environmental and
social spheres.
For the third year running, the Report has
achieved the maximum Application Level (A+) of the new GRI-G3.1
guidelines released in March 2011.
The Report is organized into
three main sections: the first illustrates the Group's strategic
approach to sustainability through the Sustainability Plan; the second
reports on initiatives in the economic dimension; the third and fourth
sections report respectively on Environmental and Social performance.
The last section provides additional information relating to the key
indicators.
The Sustainability Report also includes:
- additional
information in the Sustainability Plan on targets established in the
new 2010-2014 Environmental Plan (relating to water and waste
management, biodiversity and atmospheric emissions), as well as those
related to work-life balance and well-being of employees
- a
description of the Fiat Biodiversity Value Index, developed together
with the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology at the
University of Turin
- a more detailed picture of Group investment in support of development of local communities
- a focus on climate change and description of measures already taken by the Group and its future commitments
- Key
Performance Indicators used in monitoring sustainability performance
(e.g., minority hiring, flexible working patterns, occupational illness,
water quality, presence of ozone-depleting substances, CO2 emissions)
